{"id":11002,"date":"2022-05-16T13:38:03","date_gmt":"2022-05-16T13:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.rochester.edu\/scp\/?p=11002"},"modified":"2022-05-16T13:38:03","modified_gmt":"2022-05-16T13:38:03","slug":"graduate-student-emily-przysinda-awarded-f30-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.rochester.edu\/scp\/2022\/05\/16\/graduate-student-emily-przysinda-awarded-f30-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Student Emily Przysinda Awarded F30 Grant!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The F30 Grant is a prestigious award granted by the NIH &#8220;to enhance the integrated research and clinical training of promising predoctoral students, who are matriculated in a combined MD\/PhD or other dual-doctoral degree training program (e.g. DDS\/PhD, AuD\/PhD, DVM\/PhD), and who intend careers as physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SCP Lab&#8217;s very own Emily Przysinda (combined MD\/PhD student) has been awarded the F30 grant to pursue research aimed at better understanding language and social processing in schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a debilitating and complex disorder with many symptoms, including distorted perception disrupted social information processing. Emily&#8217;s proposal uses naturalistic videos along with two complementary neuroimaging methods to examine how language deficits might interact with social processing deficits.
