Our research approach combines genetic, genomic, molecular, and population studies to important questions in biology. Current research is focused on three broad topics,<\/p>\r\n<p>(1) Evolutionary Innovation: \u201cHow do new genes and new gene functions evolve?\u201c<\/p>\r\n<p>(2) Biology of Symbionts &amp; Parasites \u201cHow does parasitism and symbiosis shape the evolution of life across different biological levels?\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>(3) Development of the parasitoid <em>Nasonia<\/em> as a model insect system.<\/p>\r\n<p>More detail is provided on the<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.rochester.edu\/jwerren\/research\/\"> Research \u00a0page<\/a>.
